Religious Ed Class Options

Classroom Option
Holy Family has weekly religious education classes for grades 1 through 9, with religious education for pre-school and kindergarteners on Sundays.

The GIFT (“Growing in Faith Together”) program at Holy Family is an online, self-paced program. Students are given a log-in and must complete online lessons by the end of the school year. Families in the GIFT program meet approximately once a month at the parish to build community and plan service projects.

If you would like to register your child for religious education, please contact Linda Jablonski at the religious education office at 302-368-8976 or ljablonski@holyfamilynewark.org.

Sacraments for Children
First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion preparation takes place during the 2nd grade year.

Confirmation preparation takes place beginning in November of 9th grade with Confirmation at the beginning of 10th grade.

*students must have two full, continuous years of religious education (at a Catholic school or in a parish) in order to receive a sacrament.

Sacraments for Adults

If you are an adult who is interested in being confirmed, please contact Cecilia Cicone, Director of Religious Education, at 302-368-8976 or ccicone@holyfamilynewark.org.

Baptism and Holy Communion
Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation are celebrated for adults at the Easter Vigil every year. The process to become Catholic and receive these sacraments as an adult is called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults or RCIA.
If you are an adult who has not yet been baptized or who has been baptized in another faith and would like to become Catholic, please contact Fr. Mark Kelleher, pastor, for more information on the RCIA program at Holy Family.
