Lifelong Faith Formation
2022-2023 Religious Education Classes
For the 2022-2023 school year, there are 2 options for Religious Education:
- In-Person classes on Monday nights from 6:15pm to 7:45pm.
- GIFT ("growing in faith together") program, which is entirely online and self-paced. You will receive a log-in and can complete the online lessons with your child.
You can register for Monday night RE, GIFT, and/or sacramental preparation.
- Go to holyfamilynewark.jumbula.com
- Select what grade you would like to register your child for or select the “GIFT” program. Click “Express Register”
- Click the yellow button at the bottom right corner that says “Express Registration”
- Create an account. This will make registering for future Religious Ed programs faster!
- Fill out the registration and you’re all set. If you would like to register another child or register a child in 2nd or 9th grade to receive the sacraments, you can do that at the same time.
There is an option for a monthly payment plan and need-based scholarships are available. Financial need is never be an obstacle to a child being educated in the faith.
Sacraments for Children
First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion preparation takes place during the 2nd grade year.
Confirmation preparation takes place beginning in November of 9th grade with Confirmation at the beginning of 10th grade.
*students must have two full, continuous years of religious education (at a Catholic school or in a parish) in order to receive a sacrament.
Sacraments for Adults
Confirmation
If you are an adult who is interested in being confirmed, please contact us at 302-368-8976.
Baptism and Holy Communion
Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation are celebrated for adults at the Easter Vigil every year. The process to become Catholic and receive these sacraments as an adult is called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults or RCIA.
If you are an adult who has not yet been baptized or who has been baptized in another faith and would like to become Catholic, please contact Msgr. David Kelley, pastor, for more information on the RCIA program at Holy Family.
