New Procedures for Special Ministers of Holy Communion

• We understand there is some confusion about when Special Ministers of Holy Communion approach the altar: Therefore, as soon as Father receives the host, please come forward.  By the time ministers reach the altar, father will be ready to serve the ministers. 
• As of February 2nd, sign -up sheets for SMHC’s will have a notation next to the first two cup spaces.  Ministers who sign in these two spaces should approach the altar and stand in the Deacon position to receive Eucharist from the priest and in turn serve the cup to their fellow ministers.
• We will no longer fill the pix for Communion to the Sick at the altar.  We ask the first bread minister to return to the Tabernacle to fill the pix and place the tray on the altar before returning to your seat.

Reminders For All Liturgical Ministers
It is your responsibility to secure a substitute if you cannot fulfill your obligation.

Though ministers usually find their own substitutes, we know emergencies arise.  We ask all ministers to attend mass prepared to serve even when not scheduled.  Please check the sign -up sheets in the conference room to see if you are needed.
